Description

TAIGA with its competence regarding material selection and system construction and we with our tactical requirements led to a new uniform system.

There were many doubts both among industry professionals and the intended users of the system. But history has proven the opposite and now more and more end users around the world have been provided with CPA systems for this year's cold climate and rainy weather!

On this page you will find systems that are used in the temperature range from a few plus degrees to minus - 50 degrees Celsius together with garments recommended by us according to the multi-layer principle.

The autumns of the Scandinavian peninsula are among the worst weather conditions that an operator/hunter can find themselves in. This means varying weather within a temperature range from a few plus degrees to cold of about 30° degrees Celsius. These changes in weather conditions sometimes happen very quickly, especially in the more northern parts of Scandinavia. It may be a matter of a few hours when the temperature has dropped from a few plus degrees to -25° Celsius. With these rapid shifts, there is a very high risk of frostbite.

It is a well known fact that a mix with cotton and wool works great in dry conditions. Cotton in shell garments with wool is breathable and works very well during physically demanding activities, such as marching with a backpack and a combat vest. In military operations, however, operators should dress for the wet and cold conditions. This is in consideration of the fact that military activities may mean that it is not possible to make a fire to dry material and warm oneself. Even less seek shelter in shelters and cabins as these may be under guard by enemy units.

A shell garment in three-layer GORE-TEX® has many testimonies of not working for military operations as it hisses too much during moving reconnaissance/CTR etc. Shell garments in three-layer GORE-TEX® also often have problems with their IR signature. It reflects a signature that is very visible if the enemy is equipped with such as NVG. This problem has been solved with CPA Jacket's with liner construction. It is signature adapted (NIR/IRR), quieter due to the outer fabric.

Taiga CPA Jackets in TSUP (T Snow UV Print) has the same type of configuration that Taiga other field jackets. So when you must switch from winter to new area of operation you can place your own line of an equipment (such as survival cases, compasses, etc.) in the same places regardless of the climate in the new operation area.
