Forest axes

Gränsfors forest axes are made to be used in the forest, everything from felling larger trees to pruning smaller branches. A distinctive feature of the forest axes is that the edge is rounded and long with a flat and long narrow ax head. The forest axes are specially made for cutting wood fibers, such as when felling trees and branching, in contrast to wood splitting when the cut goes along the wood fibers. The different forest axes are designed to suit a specific function. Many of the models are developed in collaboration with specialists and professionals. Both hunters, forest workers, fishermen, mountain hikers and experts in survival in the forest and land have been involved in the product development of these axes. Gränsfors forest axes are available in different sizes where both head and shaft differ. The smallest, Gränsfors Lilla Ax, is only 26 cm long with a weight of 0.3 kg. The ax can almost be used as a filet knife as it has a very thin edge. The largest, American fell axe, is 90 cm long and weighs 2.2 kg. It is used to fell really big trees.
