As for the shafts, the light ones are made of Micarta, and the black ones are made of a special composite called G10. With the different color combinations, you can get a more personal knife or you can adjust the colors according to what is best seen when you drop it in the moss. Or why not choose based on what emits the least reflection, if you need to be incognito with your position.
